EXCITING JOB OPPORTUNITY – How would you like to be the new Coordinator of TANGO Community Project


We are looking to appoint a new coordinator for TANGO. A furniture project with a clothes shop and café, which provides affordable furniture and goods to the local community and gives to those in need. TANGO stands for ‘Together As Neighbours Giving Out’

TANGO is part of the missional activity of St Mark’s Church, Haydock and as such has grown out of the love and care that we have for our community and beyond.

The TANGO coordinator’s main responsibility is to lead TANGO and implement the vision:

“The aim of TANGO. is to reach out, serve and help those in need in the community, by building trust and fellowship, mirroring Christian values”.

In order to stay true to TANGO’s Core Christian Values and fulfil the role, the new TANGO coordinator will preferably be a committed Christian willing to become a regular worshipper at St Mark’s.

The TANGO coordinator is to oversee the daily working activities of TANGO, including co-ordinating the work, supervising the team and being accountable for the running of the organisation, as well as the pastoral care of the whole team. At present we employ 8 people and have 29 volunteers in addition to the coordinator.

The Coordinator will be expected to work 16 site-based hours per week at the Real Living Wage + 15% (currently £10.70 inclusive per hour as of February 2020). You will have the option to join the workplace pension scheme.

The holiday allowance is 93 hours to spend over the year
