The Quiz Night on 1st August proved to be a great success. Ian raised over £300 for his sponsored shave and we raised over £500 on the night. We have arranged to send a cheque for £1000 to Help for Heroes. A great big thank you to all who contributed.
And there it was gone to reveal a fresh faced Ian!!
We would also like to thank all those who generously donated prizes:-
St Helens RLFC, West End Salon, St Helens Windows, Gem’s Hair Salon, Christine & Wilf Kay, Dot Robinson, Julie Ward, Re-Nu Beauty, Barry Chesworth Butchers.
Thanks to Dougie for being Compere & DJ for the evening and all our staff who put so much effort into making it such a success.
Each morning before we open we have a quiet time of reflection and then one of our volunteers leads us in prayer with a poem, saying or their own words.
Today (Thursday 23rd January 2013) Jan gave us this:
We opened with a quiet moment to think how we felt about coming into TANGO today.
She then gave out a variety of vegetables to some of the volunteers –
A carrot – a tough vegetable but sweet in flavor
An onion – very strong in flavour but can bring tears to your eyes when you cut into it
A potato – very dependable, versatile and you can do many things with it
A pepper – bright and tangy
A Leek – not as strong as an onion but has great flavor
A stock cube – small but effective and flavoursome
All different shapes and sizes – all important in their own right. Put them in a pan and mix them altogether, use a good recipe and the result is a fantastic soup.
At TANGO we have all different shapes, sizes and personalities. Put us all together and we make a fantastic team. Each one as important as the other, but all unique in their own way – leaders, volunteers and customers. All needing one another to bring out the best in us.
Like in the soup – the right amount of ingredients, a good recipe and guide lines, resulting in a great success
You are invited to T.A.N.G.O on a Sunday??
This is held on the first Sunday of the month in the TANGO Cafe 11am till 12 noon. Everyone welcome
It is an informal chat over tea, coffee and toast. Topics up for discussion have been big issues such as:
‘Tell me what you want, what you really really want’

‘To be or note to be. That is the Question’? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
